Returns & Refund Policy
Vintage & Collector Standards
DialArchives sells pre-owned, vintage, and collectible items. Returns are handled carefully, fairly, and in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
At DialArchives, we specialise in pre-owned, vintage, and collectible watches, pocket watches, stopwatches, clocks, writing instruments, and related items. These items may show signs of age, wear, patina, previous servicing, replacement parts, or prior use.
We aim to describe and photograph each item as clearly and accurately as possible. Please review all photos, videos, condition notes, and product descriptions carefully before purchasing, as they form part of the item description.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer protection laws.
If an item has a major problem, is significantly different from the description, or does not meet applicable consumer guarantees, you may be entitled to a remedy such as a repair, replacement, refund, or other remedy required by law.
Change-of-Mind Returns
DialArchives does not accept returns for change of mind, buyer’s remorse, sizing preference, style preference, or subjective expectations about age-related wear, patina, or vintage character where the item matches the listing description and photos.
Eligible Return Requests
A return request may be reviewed where:
- The item received is significantly different from the product listing or photos
- A major issue was not disclosed in the listing
- The wrong item was sent
- The item was damaged in transit
- A remedy is required under Australian Consumer Law
Return Timeframe
Please contact DialArchives as soon as possible after delivery if there is an issue with your order. For damaged-in-transit claims, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and provide photos of the item, packaging, and shipping label.
For other return enquiries, please contact us within 7 days of delivery so the matter can be reviewed promptly.
Return Conditions
If a return is approved, the item must be returned in the same condition as received, unless the issue relates to a fault, damage, or legal remedy.
- Do not open, alter, repair, service, polish, or modify the item before contacting us
- Return all included accessories, boxes, papers, straps, links, manuals, or documents where applicable
- Use secure protective packaging suitable for watches or collectible items
- Follow the return instructions provided by DialArchives
Parts / Repair Items
Items listed as “parts,” “repair,” “project,” “not running,” or “as-is” are sold with that condition clearly disclosed. These items may have faults, missing components, cosmetic wear, or unknown service requirements.
Returns are generally not accepted for issues that were clearly disclosed in the listing. This does not affect any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
Vintage & Pre-Owned Watch Notice
Vintage and pre-owned watches may show variation in timekeeping, operation, power reserve, water resistance, cosmetic condition, and performance over time. Unless explicitly stated, water resistance is not tested or guaranteed.
Timekeeping accuracy, long-term performance, service history, and future operation are not guaranteed unless specifically stated in the product listing.
Shipping Costs for Returns
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer for non-fault return requests or where a return is approved outside a legal requirement.
If the return is required because of an error by DialArchives, the wrong item being sent, a major undisclosed issue, or another situation where DialArchives is legally responsible, we will provide instructions regarding return shipping.
Refunds
Refunds are issued only after the returned item has been received and inspected, unless otherwise required by law. Approved refunds will generally be processed back to the original payment method.
Please allow reasonable processing time for your bank, card provider, or payment service to finalise the refund.
How to Request a Return
To request a return review, please contact DialArchives before sending any item back. Include your order number, the item name, the reason for the request, and clear photos or video where relevant.
Items returned without prior contact or return instructions may be delayed or refused where permitted by law.
